Something for the kiddos this Friday at @hammerandjacks.

*

Repost from @hammerandjacks

Okay, so the last Kids Open Mic knocked our socks right off. Will you join us for the next Kids Open Mic this Friday?

Highlights included a singing sibling duo, a high energy tap dancer, and the most incredible improv song and dance about slugs ever. We had so much fun! If we hadn’t been enjoying ourselves and the performers so much we might have caught the slug song on video! Whoops!

This is a super casual space to have fun on stage no matter what your talent might be, and to support others finding the courage to hop on the mic. One joke? That works! Half a song? That’s okay too. Nothing fancy required. Newcomers and return performers are all welcome!

Our next Kids Open Mic is on June 24th this Friday! Sign-up on the website to reserve a space ahead of time or last minute! Pop on in! We love this event! We’re still giggling thinking about the slug song. Seriously. Cannot stop thinking about it.

Yet another reason we love our neighborhood small businesses (see below). Shop at @larkspurportland and support @equitablegivingcircle & our local BIPOC community.

Repost from @larkspurportland

Hey are you familiar with @equitablegivingcircle ? They do great work to support our local BIPOC community- From hosting a beautiful weekly food pantry, to housing advocacy, and wellness and educational programming. Their ‘Plant it Forward’ program allows you to purchase plants at partnering BIPOC owned plant shops, to be donated to EGC’s plant jams and events. We’re one of those shops! And we match each donation (every day, not just today), so your plant donation goes a little further. Consider donating next time you’re in- and check out EGC’s work, and donate directly to them!
